ICDO celebrates the work of influential and committed individuals working towards the betterment of our society. The ICDO Annual Excellence Award rewards those who have dedicated their lives and upheld ideals that coincide with the ICDO’s mission to safeguard diversity.

During the Long Nights of Interculturality 2022, Barbara Trionfi was honored with the International Cultural Diversity Organization’s (ICDO) Excellence Award, recognizing her dedication to advancing the well-being of society. The award was proudly presented by ICDO Founders, Ms. Josipa Palac and Mr. Toni Pehar.
Barbara Trionfi, former Executive Director of the International Press Institute (IPI), has dedicated her career to safeguarding press freedom and promoting quality journalism worldwide. Recognized for her contributions to media ethics, journalist safety, and media accountability, Barbara was honored with the International Cultural Diversity Organization’s (ICDO) Excellence Award in 2022. She also received a Decoration of Merit in Gold from the Republic of Austria for her work in defending freedom of expression. Currently, Barbara is an IPI Fellow and serves on the International Board of Trustees of ARTICLE 19.

During the Long Nights of Interculturality 2019, Jaime Castle, President of Obagi Medical received the International Cultural Diversity Organization’s (ICDO) Excellence Award in recognition of her contributions in promoting cultural diversity.
Ms. Castle has established diversity and inclusion as the foundation of a “future fearless” workplace culture in Obagi Medical and has increased female leadership at the organization, championed developing educational materials for the hearing and sight-impaired, and embedded inclusivity as a corporate value within the culture of Obagi.
ICDO is proud to partner with Obagi Medical and Priyanka Chopra Jonas on SKINCLUSION, Global Initiative which aims to elevate the global dialogue about diversity and how to make conscious choices to see the beauty in all our differences.

During the Long Night of Intercultural Dialogue, the evening culminated with the first, 2018, ICDO Annual Excellence Award given to Dr. Manfred Nowak, an internally recognized Human Activist, Secretary-General of the European Inter-University Center for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC), one of the former judges in the Human Rights Chamber for Bosnia and Herzegovina, former UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Director of Arts and Human Rights at the University of Vienna, co-director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Human Rights, former functionary for the Council of Europe, the EU, and other inter-governmental organizations.
