By December 4, 2024Uncategorized

We are proud to announce that the International Cultural Diversity Organization (ICDO) has been honored with the PaN Society Award at the Gesellschaften vor den Vorhang event, hosted by PaN – Partner aller Nationen, on November 25th. This memorable evening took place in the stunning Wappensaal of Vienna’s historic Rathaus, celebrating the collective commitment to intercultural understanding and cultural exchange.

The annual gathering, attended by PaN’s 120 member organizations, highlighted a couple of impactful initiatives promoting intercultural dialogue. For ICDO, the event was a significant milestone, as it reaffirmed our dedication to fostering meaningful connections among cultures. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mückler, Chairman of the PaN Dachverband and a trusted advisor to ICDO’s executive committee, for his role in organizing and moderating this inspiring evening.

Receiving the PaN Society Award was especially meaningful for us, following the success of our Long Nights of Interculturality earlier this year. This recognition serves as a testament to the importance of promoting dialogue across cultures and energizes us to continue creating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and connection. Our CEO and President, Josipa Palac, accepted the award on behalf of ICDO, embodying our mission through impactful global initiatives. From empowering Maya women in Mexico to fostering unity among ethnic communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ICDO continues to spearhead projects that bridge cultures and celebrate diversity.

The evening also highlighted other remarkable efforts, including presentations by the Österreich-Afghanistan Gesellschaft, Österreichisch-Brasilianische Gesellschaft, and Österreichisch-Bulgarische Gesellschaft. A special moment of the night was the PaN Personality Award presented to Dr. Friedrich Schwank for his decades of dedication to fostering bilateral relationships. Additionally, Dr. Christoph Thun-Hohenstein’s thought-provoking speech connected pressing global challenges, from artificial intelligence to climate change, with the urgent need for intercultural dialogue.

This recognition is more than an award for ICDO, it is a celebration of the power of cultural bridges and the harmony they promote. It motivates us to dream bigger, work harder, and continue shaping a world united by mutual respect and understanding. Let’s continue building these bridges and safeguard diversity – together.
