International Gender Champions Bi-Annual Meeting 2023

ICDO President and International Gender Champion Ms. Josipa Palac and ICDO and IGC Focal Point Mr. Toni Pehar had the pleasure to participate in first IGC Vienna Hub 2023 Champions Meeting in United Nations, Vienna, Austria.

IGC Chair – H.E. Ms. Barbara Žvokelj – Ambassador and Permanent Representative Republic of Slovenia to the International Organizations in Vienna opened the meeting with inspiring words and has fostered dialogue and exchange on the topics of Climate Change & Gender Nexus as well as Men’s Engagement.

We had a pleasure to hear keynote speeches from the following IGC Champions:

  • Mr. Martin Chungong – Secretary General Inter-Parliamentary Union Chair of the IGC Global Board
  • H.E. Mr. Paul Bekkers – Ambassador Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UN, WTO and other International Organizations in Geneva
  • Mr. Luther Bois Anukur – Regional Director Eastern and Southern Africa International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)

ICDO President Ms. Josipa Palac presented ICDO projects and solutions on the topic of Climate Change and Gender Nexus. ICDO’s socio-development projects (Mexico, Colombia & Egypt) work with indigenous and marginalized communities and focus on women and children which are the most vulnerable group affected by Climate Change. Ms. Palac presented challenges, solutions and activities that ICDO successfully implements.
