OPENING CEREMONY

The Long Nights of Interculturality – a week-long annual public festival under the UNESCO patronage kicked off on September 1st with a grandiose cultural dancing performances at the Vienna City Hall (Rathaus).

The Vienna City Hall provided a spectacular backdrop to the energetic and kaleidoscopic performances of numerous Vienna-based cultural organizations and ensembles who showcased their traditional costumes and dances from around the world.

“We are here to connect all people from all around the world and to celebrate differences in Vienna,” said Josipa Palac, ICDO’s President in her opening speech.

The Vienna City Hall provided a spectacular backdrop to the energetic and kaleidoscopic performances of numerous Vienna-based folklore ensembles, dancing groups, cultural centers, and performers.

The Long Nights of Interculturality 2019 was a hub for local and international artists, musicians, diplomats, and representatives of international organizations to come together and experience firsthand a marvelous celebration of cultural diversity.
