Belonging Across Borders
The International Cultural Diversity Organisation (ICDO) proudly presents the 9th edition of Long Nights of Interculturality, taking place from 21–27 September 2026 across Vienna.
Recognised as one of Vienna’s leading international cultural festivals, Long Nights of Interculturality is a week-long celebration of cultural diversity, creativity, and international dialogue. This year’s festival brings together participants from more than 35 countries, including embassies, cultural institutes, international organisations, universities, artists, Indigenous communities, NGOs, and local associations, creating a vibrant platform for intercultural exchange and global cooperation.
This Year’s Theme
Under the 2026 theme, “Belonging Across Borders,” the festival features four flagship events – the International Art Exhibition, Panel Discussion, Costumes of the World, and Short Movies & Documentaries. Visitors can experience over 400 traditional costumes, artworks by more than 20 international artists, cultural performances, thought-provoking discussions, and inspiring films that celebrate identity, heritage, peacebuilding, and intercultural understanding.

Panel Discussion: Belonging Across Borders: Culture, Identity and Peacebuilding
The panel discussion brings together diplomats, academics, artists, researchers, policymakers, civil society representatives, and international organisations to examine how culture can foster belonging, strengthen social cohesion, promote peacebuilding, and advance international cooperation.

ICDO’s Costumes of the World Show – Rathaus Festsaal
Experience a vibrant celebration of global cultural heritage featuring more than 400 traditional costumes and participants from over 35 countries. Embassies, cultural organisations, Indigenous communities, and international partners will present traditional attire, music, dance, and cultural performances, creating one of Vienna’s most diverse international cultural showcases.

International Art Exhibition: Belonging Across Borders – Art as a Bridge for Memory and Reconciliation
The International Art Exhibition brings together more than 20 artists from over 15 countries, presenting contemporary works that explore identity, belonging, migration, cultural heritage, memory, sustainability, peacebuilding, and intercultural dialogue. Through diverse artistic perspectives, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on today’s global challenges while encouraging dialogue, creativity, and cultural exchange.

Short Movies & Documentaries
A curated programme of international short films and documentaries presents stories of cultural heritage, Indigenous knowledge, migration, identity, environmental sustainability, and community resilience. The programme highlights powerful narratives from around the world, encouraging dialogue on human rights, cultural diversity, social inclusion, and global citizenship.
